Laura Beth Yaple Bradham
Author

Laura Beth Yaple Bradham grew up in Houston, Texas, where she still lives, works, reads, writes, cooks, and gardens today. She discovered the art of creative writing in 5th grade at West University Elementary School writing a series about a frog which was the pet of a boy named Ross. She has spent countless hours writing articles, stories, and even a cookbook as an adult. As her 30 year pen pal, her grandfather taught her the art of letter writing and coined her nickname, “LB,” short for Laura Beth.
A graduate of Southwestern University, Laura spent many years teaching (and subsequently tutoring) music, Latin, and math. She has also used her unique skill set to teach the GED class at Houston Community College. She and her husband of over 30 years, Michael, raised three children. Laura is an active member of her local community, where she serves as Block Captain Chair of the local Civic Club and President of the Board of The Friends of The Lorraine Cherry Nature Preserve, where she leads weekly bird walks.
Laura’s mother was a librarian, which meant that Laura grew up around books at the West University and Bellaire City Libraries. As kids, Laura and Eve had many adventures together, including collaborating on a project to paint a fire hydrant at the corner of Vanderbilt and Duke to celebrate the bicentennial. They’ve stayed connected to many other elementary school friends through the years via occasional class reunions and a facebook group for the class.
Illustrator

Eve Maulsby is a mother, artist, 2x cancer survivor, 6th generation Texan, and native Houstonian. As soon as she was able to sit upright unassisted, Eve’s mother taped paper to her high chair table for her to draw and paint on. As she grew up, she spent countless hours watching her grandfather, western artist Mark Storm, hand letter, design logos, draw, sculpt, and paint.
Eve’s formal art education includes HSPVA, Art Institute of Houston, and University of Houston at Clear Lake. Her self-taught education spans many decades, including (but not limited to) illustration, murals, portraits, sign painting, graphic design, jewelry, art cars, and costuming.
Eve met Li’l Miss LB in 4th grade at West University Elementary and they soon discovered their shared passion for non-stop giggling. While carpooling to school with Li’l Miss LB and their big brothers, packed tightly into her blue AMC Hornet, they sang along and laughed with her mom’s favorite 8-tracks, Queen and Monty Python being the standouts. Their moms were also friends, as were
their brothers!
